SHOW CHOIR!
RISING STARS YOUTH SHOW CHOIR!
The
Jorgenson Music Studio, in conjunction with the Drake University
Community School of Music, is proud to announce that the Rising Stars
Youth Show Choir is expanding and has openings for singers in grades
K-8! Directed by Sarah Jorgenson, each section of the show choir consists of 10-20 singers ages 6-13 who love to sing,
act, dance and have fun.
As children are not required to audition for the choir, Rising Stars singers pride themselves on accepting all students regardless of experience level.
This choir performs throughout the community while also creating outreach programs. Last year, the singers helped fill wish list requests for Blank Children's Hospital. We then spent an afternoon Christmas caroling and delivering gifts to the patients! Rising Stars schedules multiple concerts and ends the year with a performing tour to area elementary schools. The singers also perform for the Des Moines Arts Festival. This year, after seeing the choir perform at the Arts Festival, a representative from America's Got Talent invited Rising Stars to submit audition material for future casting!
ENROLLMENT HAS BEGUN FOR SPRING 2011!
Rehearsals take place at the Harmon Fine Arts Center on the Drake University campus. Section I rehearses on Mondays from 5:45- 6:45. Section II rehearses on Thursdays from 5:00- 6:00. Both section will come together for all final performances.
Tuition for the spring session is $175 per singer and is payable to DUCSOM at the Drake student accounts office.
A $25 materials and costume fee will be payable to the instructor at the first rehearsal.
